current work >  place/setting installation

The idea for this installation blossomed from imagining my cloud-inspired Korean bottle forms residing in a natural landscape. The installation includes a 16-person dinner setting (plates, cups, bowls, vases) with centerpieces (bottles nestled  in bowls), arranged topographically with stacked plates and bowls representing land masses, and the centerpiece cloud bottles playing the role of mountains.  It combines shapes from traditional Korean pottery with contemporary Scandinavian dinnerware, inspired by my home in Minnesota, a state predominately settled by Scandinavians, and my ancestral roots in Korea.
